Glaswerk Freital

After morning classes on Tuesday we were invited by the parents of David Hoppe to visit the glass making factory in Freital where Mr. Hoppe works. It was a special visit because this company does not usually give tours.
The company began in 1850. It has a staff of 40 people. There are approximately 50,000 bottles produced daily. 80% of the materials used is recycled glass the other 20% are new materials. The bottles are made for beer, wine, liqour and oils.
They are produced in different colors and are shipped to buyers in Europe and North America.
After the tour we had a luncheon prepared by Mrs. Hoppe in the employee's canteen.
